Tripoli Government Approves New Rules Regulating Foreign Schools and Education.
TRIPOLI – Tripoli Ministerial Cabinet has approved a new resolution regulating foreign schools and educational institutions operating in the country.
The rules require foreign schools to offer accredited programs and respect Libya’s Islamic law, national values, customs and traditions. Schools must also meet safety standards and provide suitable health, engineering and electrical facilities.
Licensed foreign schools may use public school buildings and facilities in exchange for a fee, while private schools must operate from their own premises and only conduct educational activities covered by their licenses.
The resolution also allows foreign embassies to establish schools in Libya under bilateral agreements, provided that they respect the country’s religious, moral and social values
