Libya and Russia Explore Expanded Economic and Investment Cooperation
Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dbeibah received the Chairman of the Russian-Libyan Business Council, Ara A. Abramyan, in Tripoli, in the presence of senior Libyan and Russian diplomatic officials, including the Libyan Ambassador to Russia and representatives from both foreign ministries.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Libya and Russia across multiple sectors, with particular emphasis on economic ties, investment opportunities, and improved coordination between public and private institutions in both countries.
The meeting also reviewed broader areas of bilateral cooperation and explored new mechanisms to expand partnership, exchange expertise, and enhance mutual interests.
In a related development, a Russian delegation led by Abramyan visited the Misrata Free Zone, where they assessed investment and production opportunities. Both sides discussed potential joint projects and ways to deepen cooperation through the Russian-Libyan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation.
The visit reflects ongoing efforts to widen economic engagement and attract foreign investment into Libya’s industrial and logistics sectors.
