Rubble Removal Continues in Central Benghazi as Part of Major Reconstruction Drive

Under the directives of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, work continues on clearing rubble and debris from Sabri and central Benghazi, in preparation for the next phase of redevelopment.

Large parts of the area consist of old and outdated infrastructure that has not been properly upgraded for decades, with significant portions also damaged during the second civil war against militant groups.

The Eastern Region authorities have launched a wider plan to redevelop the entire downtown district with modern urban design and new construction projects, aiming to rebuild the city’s core and transform its infrastructure for the future.
